Fundraising for early stage life science companies is often of a higher value than for other technology sectors. This is due largely to the high levels of cash needed in the early stages to progress research and development, test and trial products and comply with regulatory requirements. To meet demand there are a number of different sources of investment available for businesses at Norwich Research Park.

Anglia Capital Group is a leading group of business angel investors in Norfolk and Suffolk and is a sister company to Cambridge Capital Group. Members have expertise in areas of food and agri/biotech, specialist engineering and energy and support spin outs, new ventures and growth businesses. Successful applications are invited to pitch their propositions at quarterly events held at Norwich Research Park.

BBSRC Rainbow Seed Fund makes equity investments between £25,000 and £750,000 into either projects or small businesses in return for an equity share in the business. Businesses must be based in the UK and should be either based at or relocating to one of the partners’ national science and innovation campuses in Harwell Oxford, Babraham Cambridge, Daresbury Warrington and Norwich.
