An invitation for new grant applications has been announced by Norfolk’s cancer charity, Big C.
The grants are open for research with a benefit to cancer patients, whether quantitative, qualitative or mixed methodology, along with equipment applications across the spectrum of treatment and care. Applications will be subject to peer review and consideration by Big C’s Research and Equipment Advisory Panels of independent scientific experts and Big C trustees, before the awards are announced in December 2019.
Dr Chris Bushby, Chief Executive at Big C said, “Our aim is to invest in a diverse portfolio of initiatives where it is clear to see their benefit to cancer patients, now or in the future. We are interested in receiving applications from across the wide spectrum of specialities from ground-breaking cancer research, or the latest medical equipment. What unites them is their potential benefit to people in our community affected by cancer.”
The total sum available in the 2019 grant round is £346,046. A maximum of £100,000 is available per individual research project award with a maximum of £25,000 for pump priming projects. Big C can consider further investment in exceptional circumstances and all potential applicants are urged to get in touch with Big C to discuss, prior to application.
