On November 22nd, Norwich Research Park received the Outstanding Achievement award at the Eastern Daily Press Norfolk Business Awards. The Norfolk Business Awards are a celebration of the dynamism and success of the Norfolk economy as well as a chance to place the spotlight on those companies and individuals who are truly outstanding in their field. In total, 13 awards were handed out to the cream of Norfolk’s business community in front of 550 guests – the largest audience in nearly 30 years of the awards
The Outstanding Achievement award recognises the Norwich Research Park’s growth into a major economic player in the county – one which is home to more than 80 businesses and was highlighted in the government’s Industrial Strategy document earlier this year.
David Parfrey our Executive Chairman said:
"Huge thank you to award sponsor Anglian Water and the Eastern Daily Press for this recognition. It is recognition for everyone, past and present who has worked at Norwich Research Park or has contributed to making the Park the place it is. There are 12,000 current people and many more former members and wider friends who all deserve to take the credit
David Parfrey listed climate change, food security and healthy ageing as among the 21st century’s greatest challenges before reminding the audience that scientists in Norwich are already leading the way in solving them.
The next stage, he said, is to spread the word.
“We can put this region on the global map as the place where the world looks to for big problems to be solved. But we can only do that if people start talking about it.”
