Building work has started on a new Nursery to be located at Norwich Research Park. The Nursery will provide additional childcare facilities for staff who work on the Park and for the general public.
The Nursery has been funded by an Early Years Capital Fund grant and supplemented by additional financial support from the John Innes Foundation. Norwich Research Partners LLP has worked closely with Norfolk County Council Early Years staff and Partner organisations to deliver this much needed asset to the Park.
The Nursery is to be located within Zone 1 of the Park and will create an outstanding nursery environment for 92 full day childcare places for ages 0-5 years. There will be creche facilities including a large secure outside play area and the potential for a holiday club for children up to 11 years.
Dr Sally Ann Forsyth, Chief Executive Officer, Norwich Research Park said
“The Nursery is a great addition to the Park. It will contribute to the supportive environment on offer here for both organisations and their employees by providing easy access to childcare.”
The Nursery will be operated by Chestnut Nursery Schools, one of the UK’s leading providers of high-quality pre-school education.
Sarah Blyth, Director of Childcare, Chestnut Day Nurseries said:
“We are delighted to announce that Chestnut Nursery School will be opening a new Nursery School on Norwich Research Park. The Nursery will have a strong emphasis on core curricular activities such as Science and Forest School. We look forward to welcoming families to our Nursery School early next year.”
Local contractors T. Gill and Son have been appointed to develop the Nursery which is due open its doors in early 2018.
