Norwich Research Park offers a unique opportunity for scientists across the park to come together in collaborative research projects and multi-disciplinary alliances.
Scientists in the Food and Health Alliance on Norwich Research Park are working to understand the relationship between diet and human health. In particular they are responding to the increase in chronic diseases common to aging such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and the 'metabolic syndrome' associated with obesity. IBA is an engine for research on the Park. Its mission is to address the major societal and environmental challenges of the 21st century through the discovery and development of biological resources for producing and processing materials, chemicals and energy using plants and microbes as factories. Research draws on the interdisciplinary strengths of the NRP partners to discover, harness and optimise bioactives from Nature for pharmaceutical (e.g. anti-infectives, cancer drugs), agricultural and other industrial applications.
